Radiotherapy

Radiation therapy, often referred to simply as radiotherapy, refers to attacking mesothelioma tumors or malignant cells with rays of high energy radiation. While in some rare cases radiotherapy is used as a primary form of treatment, it’s more frequently prescribed as a supportive treatment to increase the efficacy of surgery and chemotherapy.

One of the greatest advantages of radiotherapy is its ability to target specific areas within the body, a practice which reduces collateral damage to healthy tissues and organs.
